Jareth the Goblin King, from the popular Labyrinth movie played by David Bowie, has always been one of Ebony Amber's favorite characters. The enchanting world crafted by Jim Henson inspired Ebony to delve into the realm of fantasy, the iconic ballroom particularly capturing her imagination. In this mesmerizing scene, Jareth and Sarah attend a lavish yet haunting party inside a floating bubble. Inspired by Brian Froud's costume designs, included in this scene, Ebony felt inspired to recreate Jareth’s garment.
Every bead adorning Jareth’s jacket was meticulously hand-stitched, adding a level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that truly brought the costume to life. And of course, no Jareth cosplay would be complete without the infamous bulge!
Oz is a character inspired by the beloved film, Wizard of Oz. Enthralled by the magic of the movie, Ebony embarked on a mission to create a costume that would pay homage to every aspect of the iconic story.
Ebony imagined a captivating narrative that began with the departure of the Wizard, also known as Oscar Diggs, from the Emerald City to accompany Dorothy Gale back to her home in Kansas.
Unbeknownst to Oscar, his wife Clara Diggs was pregnant with their very first child. Fearing Oscar would cancel his plans to return Dorothy home if he knew about her pregnancy, Clara kept it a secret.
Many months later, Clara gave birth to a beautiful baby girl without the company of her long departed husband. Proudly she named their daughter Dorothy which, as you could imagine, became a very popular name at that time. Raised on tales of her father's adventures and heroism, Dorothy grew up determined to keep, her father, Oscar the great and powerful Oz’s memory alive. Therefore when Dorothy became a mother herself, she chose to name her daughter Oz.
Young Oz grew up hearing enchanting stories about Dorothy Gale and her companions, but it's the tales of her grandfather, the great and powerful Oz, that captured her imagination the most.
Through Ebony's creative storytelling, the legacy of the Wizard of Oz lives on in the next generation, sparking new adventures and keeping the magic of the Emerald City alive.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula holds a special place in Ebony Amber's heart as one of her favorite films. The stunning costumes, designed by Eiko Ishioka, left a lasting impression on Ebony, especially the iconic red Mina dress worn by Winona Ryder.
The Mina dress project proved to be one of Ebony's most ambitious undertakings yet, with over 140 beaded origami petals meticulously crafted to capture the essence of Ishioka's vision. As Ebony poured her heart into every stitch, she pushed herself to new heights of craftsmanship.
True to her unique style, Ebony couldn't resist adding her own vampire twist to the character of Mina. Teaming up with Tyler Green's, they set out to transform Mina into a fierce vampire, weaving a captivating narrative through their fantastical imagery.
